About
The Machine Intelligence and Data Science (MINDS) Lab conducts cutting-edge research in machine learning, deep learning, and data mining to advance our society. The lab specializes in areas such as graph machine learning, large language models, and multi-modal learning, applying these techniques to address societal challenges in public safety, healthcare, social media, science, and others. Current research efforts are centered on developing foundational models (graph neural neteworks and large language models), designing resource-efficient learning algorithms (from both data and model perspectives), and ensuring safe learning practices that are robust, fair, and interpretable. The lab's works are primarily published in leading conferences for machine learning (e.g., ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, TMLR), data science (e.g., KDD, WWW, WSDM, ICDM, CIKM, SDM), artificial intelligence (e.g., AAAI, IJCAI, UAI), and natural language processing (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NAACL).
